The Basics

Name: Mim
Age: Early 30s
Sign: Virgo
Location: Anywhere, USA (usually)
Profession: Seasonal across the US, odd jobs
Contact: rubbertrampmim [at] gmail.com

I'm a full time nomad who lives in a 2006 dodge sprinter I converted entirely by hand by myself using repurposed materials with two cats and a chihuahua. I also had a brief stint in the back of a pickup truck bed and was a beach rat. I'm a complete idiot so don't imitate me, even if it's really fucking fun. I love meeting new people and hearing their stories on the road. Sometimes it's nice to just live somewhere for a brief period, then move on with the memories. I belong nowhere, yet I belong everywhere. Retirement is 65 year old Mim's problem.

FAQ

I get asked a lot of the same things in my travels about my lifestyle so I'm just going to get these out of the way here.

What made you decide to live in a van?
I hate paying rent and I moved about every 2 years to a different state anyway. I get bored easily and like the freedom and experiences being a nomad brings me.

How do you make money?
Seasonal work anywhere from canneries in Alaska to ranches in the Rocky Mountains. I only work 6 months out of the year.

How expensive is it?
I live off about $300 a month, give or take. Minimum survival with bills is $200 if I don't need to grocery shop. Soon to be down to $100 a month without groceries.

I want to do vanlife!
Don't. Instagram and Youtube lied to you. Just be a weekend warrior and rent a fully loaded Class-B RV when you want to go out. If you're forced to be homeless and need help and advice just email me.

What's your van setup?
It's a shitty redneck build. My van has 400k miles on it and the transmission coolant hose likes to pop off in the middle of the highway. Anyway I have an off-brand roof fan, 300 watts of solar and 200AH of battery. I have a 16 quart alpicool fridge. The inside is ugly and that's why they won't let me on instagram.

Are you a criminal?
Idk I think I might've had a warrant in Seattle in 2012 once. But no I don't have a record. I put all my character points into Charisma and Luck.
